Craps Rules and Procedure
At first glance, craps tables are a source of great respect for most players, as there are so many different ways to bet that seem very complex at first. But if you learn more about this game, you'll find that it's not.
Here we take a look at the basics of the game, from the stakes to the rules and gameplay. This will give you everything you need to play this exciting game at the casino. Craps tables in normal, online and mobile casinos always have the same design. The only difference between playing on the Internet and in a normal casino is that in online and mobile casinos you can also play with virtual credit before placing real bets. This is a perfect way to learn more about the game without any pressure or risk.
However, before you learn more about how the game works, let's take a look at the different bets on Craps online.
Craps Bets
Pass Line
Betting on Pass Line is probably the most popular alternative in Craps. This bet is placed on the come out roll (the first roll in the round). The player wins if the shooter rolls a seven or an eleven. If the shooter rolls two, three or twelve points, the player loses his bet.
If the dice show a different outcome, the point is set. A point is a certain number that must be rolled, for example the 5. If this point, here the 5, is rolled before the dice show 7 points, you win with a pass line, otherwise you lose your bet.
Pass Line Odds
This is another bet that can be placed after the Pass Line bet has been placed and after the Point has been set for that round. You win this bet if the point is rolled before the seven. The point also determines the amount of possible winnings, which can be between 2:1, 3:1 and 6:5.
This is, by the way, one of the few bets in the casino where there is no house advantage. That's why this bet is worthwhile if it's offered in the game you've chosen.
Don't Pass Line
As the name suggests, this is the opposite of Pass Line. In this bet, you win if the come out roll is two or three points, and lose if you are seven or eleven points. On a twelve, the bet is pushed. In a push, the point is set and the shooter rolls the dice until he rolls a seven or the value of the point. You win if a seven is rolled, you lose at the point. All wins are equal to the amount of the bet.
Don't Pass Odds
This use is also called "Laying the Odds". You win if a seven is rolled before the point. The win also depends on the point, generally 1:2, 2:3 or 5:6.
Use on Come
The Come bet is similar to the Pass Line bet, but this bet can be placed at any time after the Point has been established. You win with your bet if a seven or eleven is rolled, if a two, three or twelve you lose. All other numbers become the point, you win if it is rolled again before a seven is on the table. Wins on the Come Bet are equal to the amount of the bets.
Be self-critical, analyze, and avoid mistakes.
Don't Come crabs table small
Also the bet on Don't Come is simply the opposite of Come. This bet can be placed at any time after the point has been established. If you choose this bet, you win on a two or three, but lose on a seven or eleven. A twelve also leads to a push. If the point is set, you win if a seven is rolled before the point is on the point. Again, the win is equal to the amount of the bet.
Place Bets
The place bets in Craps are bets placed on the numbers four, five, six, eight, nine or ten. This is possible at any time during the game. You win if the number you bet on is rolled before the seven. As you can see, this is a bet similar to the odds bet, but the possible winnings are slightly lower. In general, the odds are 9:5, 7:5 or 7:6.
Place Bets to Lots
This bet at Craps is mainly offered in normal casinos, but more and more online casinos also have this variant in the program. It is the opposite of the place bet and can be placed at any time during the game. Your bet wins if a seven is rolled before the selected number. The payouts are 5:11, 5:8 or 4:5.
Buy Bets
Buy bets are similar to place bets and can be placed at any time during the game. They differ from place bets in the amount of possible winnings. If you make this bet, you win if the point is rolled before the seven.
The payouts are as high as the odds of winning, but the casino receives a five percent wager fee. Winnings are 2:1, 3:2 and 6:5.
Craps table small Lay Bets
Lay bets are the opposite of buy bets, and these bets can be made at any time during the game. You win if a seven is rolled before the point you set. Again, the casino charges a five percent fee on winnings as the chance of a seventh is very high. The range of winnings is between 1:2, 2:3 and 5:6.
Big 6 and Big 8 Bets
Big 6 and Big 8 are bets when a six or an eight is rolled before a seven. You get a win equal to your bet, but these are not good bets in Craps, as you can make much higher winnings with a Place Bet on the Six or Eight.
Field Bets
You cannot overlook this bet, as it is displayed very large on the table. You win if a two, three, four, nine, ten or eleven is rolled and if the next roll is a three, four, nine or eleven. The winnings are equal to the amount of the bet. If there are two or twelve on the second roll, the win is 2:1.
Hardways Bets
In these bets, you have four different options where the dice show two and two, three and three, four and four, or five and five points. You can place this bet at any time, and you win if the Hardways option you bet on is rolled before a seven. The win on Hardways 6 or 8 is 9:1, on Hardways 4 or 10 the win is 7:1.
Any Seven
If you bet on this option, you win on a seven and lose on any other number. The odds are 4:1.
Any Craps
In this bet you win on a two, three or twelve, but lose on any other number. The win is 7:1.
Two Craps or Aces
The "Snake Eyes" bet; you win if a two is rolled, the win is 7:1.
Twelve Craps or Two Sixes
If you bet on this alternative, you win a 30:1 odds if a twelve is rolled. However, you lose on any other number.
Ace Deuce or Three Craps
You win if you roll a three, the win is 15:1, but you lose if you roll any other result.
Eleven or Six Five Casino Chips
You win with a odds of 15:1 if an eleven is rolled, all other numbers lose.
Horn Bet
This bet in Craps combines four bets in a single bet. To place this bet, place a chip in the middle between the two, three, eleven and twelve. If a three or eleven is rolled, you win 75:1, if a two or twelve is rolled, you win 5:1, but if any other number is rolled, you lose.
Now that you know the different bets in Craps, let's take a look at how the game works.
The game
To start, select the bet you want to make, then place your chips on the appropriate area of the table. The shooter must place the minimum bet on the pass line or don't pass line, and the other players at the table may also place their bets.
- After that, it's the turn of the players to roll the dice. The player who rolls the dice is called the Shooter, the first roll is the Come Out roll.
- The shooter rolls until the dice show a number that causes a loss.
- If the come out roll is a seven or an eleven, the pass line bet is a win. The Don't Pass bets, on the other hand, lose. The round ends after that.
- If the Come Out roll is a Two, Three or Twelve (also known as "Craps"), the Don't Pass Line bets win, while the Pass Line bets lose, after which the round is over.
- If the Shooter rolls a Four, Five, Six, Eight, Nine, or Ten on the Come Out roll, that value is set as the Point. The shooter then rolls until the point is rolled again or until there is a seven on the table.
- If the point is rolled, the pass line bet wins, and bets on the don't pass line lose. A seven, on the other hand, is the other way around.
- If the shooter loses, it's the next shooter's turn to roll the dice. The next round then begins with his come out roll. All players must place the minimum bet, and the entire process starts all over again.
Summary
Craps is certainly not the easiest game to play at the casino and it may take a while for you to see through everything. Still, it's worth it. Craps is by far the most dynamic game and you can party wildly when you win. The socializing aspect is very big in Craps, as players cheer each other on and a bunch of spectators usually gather around the table. That's even more fun, of course. It's also one of the few games where you're allowed to throw the dice yourself, which of course brings a whole different gaming experience. The more involved you are in a game, the more emotion you bring to the table, and the more the game depends on you, rather than the dealer. We're sure you'll understand the craps hype once you test it out for yourself.
